UK Employee Numbers Bounce Back to Pre-Pandemic Levels

Employee numbers in Britain have bounced back to pre-pandemic levels as the economic recovery continues, the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed on Tuesday. Employment was hit hard during the pandemic, but has shown signs of recovery since the end of 2020. The number of UK workers on payrolls rose by 241,000 to 29.1 million between July and August, returning to the levels of February 2020, just before the start of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic. Meanwhile, the number of job vacancies has seen even more significant growth. Vacancies increased by 35.2 percent in June–August 2021 compared with the last quarter.
