The investigation into the death of DHS whistleblower Philip Haney is available while the FBI to completes their investigation of evidence, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Haney was found dead near the town of Plymouth, California from an apparent single gunshot around February 21. Friends of Haney didn’t think he had been suicidal.

A autopsy was scheduled and performed by forensic pathologists in the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. At that time, we reached out into the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist in analyzing documents, phone records, multiple thumb drives along with a lap top that were retrieved in the scene and Mr. Haney’s RV. These things and numerous pieces of proof, were turned over to the FBI. The FBI has performed a forensic examination of these products. We hope to receive these reports within the next few weeks.
Examine the FBI’s investigation and the Sheriff’s Office hopes to complete our review of the reports.
