Orange County Streetcar Moves Toward Completion

Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is on track to complete the county’s first modern electric streetcar as ticket vending machines were approved Oct. 11. The Orange County Streetcar is anticipated to run along a 4.15-mile route between the Santa Ana train station and Harbor Boulevard in Garden Grove. OCTA spokesperson Eric Carpenter said the ticket vending machines will be placed at the 10 planned stops along the O.C. Streetcar route. Approximately 28 ticket vending machines will be necessary. “The machines are intended to be simple and intuitive, allowing riders to easily purchase a fare with cash or a credit/debit card to get a paper ticket with an encrypted barcode to be validated on the OC Streetcar,” Carpenter told The Epoch Times via email.
