Opinion: On China’s Memorial Day, Let’s Remember Those Killed for Their Faith

Commentary China’s Qingming festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day or Chinese Memorial Day) falls on April 4 this year. It is the day that Chinese people visit the gravesites of their ancestors and loved ones. To commemorate this special occasion, my son and I drove more than 60 miles to his mother’s grave. She was brutally persecuted 11 years ago by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for her spiritual belief. On this occasion, once again, I can’t help but think of those Falun Gong practitioners who have lost their lives as a result of the decades-long violent persecution campaign by the CCP.
