This new footage also aligns with Rittenhouse’s legal group’s explanation of what happened that evening.
As the Gateway Pundit earlier reported, Rittenhouse had worked as a lifeguard at Kenosha the afternoon of the shooting. Later work, he went into the neighborhood high school to help clean up graffiti on the building.
“Later in the afternoon, they received information about a call for help from a local small business owner, whose downtown Kenosha car dealership was largely destroyed by mob violence,” a statement offered to the Gateway Pundit by Rittenhouse’s legal group explains. “Company owner needed help to protect that which he had left of his lifetime’s work, such as two nearby mechanic’s shops. Kyle and a friend armed themselves with rifles because of the deadly violence piling Kenosha and a number of other American cities, and led to the company premises. The weapons were in Wisconsin rather than crossed state lines.”
When Rittenhouse arrived in the mechanics store, he and many others stood guard to prevent further destruction. After that night, long after the p.m. curfew had passed, the authorities began to distribute a group of rioters. His attorney, John M. Pierce, explains that although dispersing the horse, they steered a mass of individuals down the road to the car shops. Rittenhouse and the others were both threatened and taunted, however he didn’t react. “His intent wasn’t to incite violence, but simply to deter property damage and use his training to supply first aid to injured community associates,” Pierce says.
The statement claims that by the final period that Rittenhouse returned into the petrol station and”confirmed there weren’t any more injured individuals who needed assistance, authorities had progressed their creation and blocked what might have been his path back to the mechanic’s shop. Kyle then complied with the authorities instructions not to return there. Kyle returned into the petrol station until he learned of a necessity to help protect the second mechanic’s store further down the road where property destruction was imminent with no police were nearby.”
“As Kyle proceeded towards the second mechanic’s shop, he was accosted by multiple rioters who recognized that he had been attempting to protect a company the mob wanted to destroy. This outraged the rioters and made a mob now determined to hurt Kyle. They began blowing him down. Kyle attempted to get away, but he couldn’t do this quickly enough. Upon the noise of a gunshot behind himKyle was immediately confronted with the attacker lunging towards him and reaching for his rifle. He reacted promptly and invisibly together with his weapon to guard himself, shooting and striking the attacker,” Pierce explains.
