SANTA ANA, Calif.—A 30-year-old Costa Mesa man was arrested Jan. 13 for allegedly scaling a fence and walking along a runway at John Wayne Airport. Jeff Pollich allegedly climbed over the fence and was walking across the grassy area near the San Diego (405) Freeway when someone in the airport tower spotted him about 8:05 a.m. and called sheriff’s deputies. Pollich was booked on suspicion of possessing a weapon and trespassing, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ryan Anderson said. Pollich told deputies he was trying to take a shortcut through the airport, Anderson said.
