The Hill noted:
Senate Democrats blocked a GOP coronavirus invoice on Thursday amid a profound stalemate over the next relief bundle.
McConnell called Schumer’s strategy on the coronavirus invoice”poisonous,” after the Democratic chief told colleagues that Republicans were the”enemy of the good.”
“Senators who share the Democratic leader’s poisonous mindset, who believe the true enemy would be their political competitors, I presume will probably follow his lead and vote . They could tell American families that they care more about politics than assisting them,” McConnell added.
Schumer declared back that Thursday’s vote has been”pointless” and the GOP bill was”emaciated.”
“It is laden with poison pills. Provisions our coworkers know Democrats would not support to guarantee the bill’s failure. The truth of the situation is the Republicans and the Republican leader do not want to pass a bill too many on the hard right in the Senate and it would be angry” together with, Schumer said.
Republican Senators fear that Congress will not be able to come to an agreement and pass a Coronavirus statement prior to the November election.
“I believe there is always some chance, however,… unless something actually broke , it’s not going to occur,” said Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL).
