Artist Uses Fine Blades to Create Mind-Blowing Papercut Works of Art From a Single Sheet of Paper

For the past 10 years, Pippa Dyrlaga, an artist based in Yorkshire, England, has been employing fine blades with an oh-so-delicate touch to create intricate traditional papercut works. Drawing inspiration from things she sees around her and amidst the natural environment, Pippa cuts each work from a single piece of paper. “The simplicity of a blank sheet of paper appeals to me,” she shared on her website. “Paper is used in so many aspects of our lives and used to communicate with each other, and I want to do this through my work.” After getting the inspiration and settling on a specific design, the artist begins her work on a blank piece of paper. “They are first drawn out by hand on the reverse of the paper and then cut using a scalpel,” she explains. “They can take hours to complete, and I find the process is as important to me as …
